In a video, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau discussed anxiety and her experience with an eating disorder with the hope that other people would share their own experiences. 

This discussion is being held as people all throughout Canada observe Mental Health Awareness Week and Month. 

This is not Grégoire Trudeau’s first or even second time being open to the public.

She posted an old photo of herself earlier this year and questioned her followers if the girl in the image “looked like she was suffering.”

As a young adult, “I was happy and thriving in some areas of my life, but I was deeply struggling with an eating disorder,” read her caption.

I had never been taught how to sit with the anguish I was experiencing, and I was unaware that I required assistance and direction to comprehend the causes of my suffering.

We forget that life evolves from within and that we all have the potential to become more awake and aware individuals in a world that is obsessed with appearances.

She has resolved to continue working to improve herself because she has people depending on her today, including her family.  

Early Life Of Sophie Gregoire

Grégoire, the sole child of stockbroker Jean Grégoire and Franco-Ontarian nurse Estelle Blais, was born on April 24, 1975, in Montreal, Quebec. 

Her family initially resided in Sainte-Adèle, to the north of the city, before moving to Montreal when she was four years old.

After that, she was reared in the Montreal neighborhood of Mount Royal, where she attended school with Michel Trudeau, the youngest child of Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and his wife Margaret and the brother of Grégoire’s husband, Justin Trudeau.
